How to Survive the Aombie Apocalypse using Science

In Angela Watercutter's pamphlet entitled, "How to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse Using Science" she states that there are different parts of the brain that are damaged and zombie. The author supports her claim by telling Luz that the zombies are very slow moving because there is a damage to the cerebellum. Another claim is that they have amenisia because there is a lot of the hippocampus. The author next to is to show about zombies are you to pain due to damage of the parietal cortices. She also states that zombies are easily distracted because of the loss of the posterior parietal cortices. Finally the third argues that zombies are easy to mimic due to the capgres delusion.

Literature Analysis #2

1.In “Letting go of Lisa” by Lurlene McDaniel, the novel begin with Nathan Malone in his first day going to a real school. He has been home schooled all his life by his mother. At his first day of high school he is fascinated with Lisa. Lisa isn’t very social, she rides a motorcycle to school, and doesn't pay attention to Nathan. Lisa doesn't let Nathan get close to her, she is always pushing him away. The climax was when Nathan found out that Lisa has a brain tumor. But Nathan didn't care he stayed with Lisa no matter what. Because Lisa had to do chemotherapy, she left to Florida and didn't tell Malone; as she calls him. Nathan Followed them And was there when Lisa took flight.
 2. McDaniel Wrote about this topic because he son was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. She said, “I want kids to know that while people don’t get to choose what life gives them, they do get to choose how they respond.” She writes inspirational book to teens, she wants teens to have hope.
3. I chose this book because i loved the cover. The cover look very daring and mysterious. Also, the title of the book got me wondering why it was titled “Letting go of Lisa.”  The cover got my attention. This book made me want to keep reading because it is a love story, but its not a typical love story with a happy ending. 4. This book was really realistic. Many people Are very sick and can't really live life like they want to. Everyday people die because of tumors, cancer or other illnesses. I made a connection to my grampa. She had cancer and a tumor and they couldn't do anything to save her because the cancer had gotten into her heart.
5. The author’s tone is  sentimental, realistic, and earnest.“I took it because … because, you see . . .  I love you” (103).”it’s a date” (142).  “It’s a kind of Brain tumor” (110). “They shaved her head for the Gamma Knife procedure that didn’t work” (173).  “She is blind” (174). “Lisa took flight 3:09 this morning. Charlie “ (177).
6. 1.Motivation - Nathan is motivated by love and Lisa is motivated by her tumor and Malone’s love. 2. Tragic flaw - “Lisa had a brain tumor’’ (113). 3. Symbolism - ..” walked to the mural…” “It’s the tops of royal poincianas-flame trees” (108). Hit symbolism Miami where Lisa used to live. 4.Resolution - Lisa died. “Lisa took flight 3:09 this morning” (177). 5. Exposition - …”dressed in black leather and streamlined helmet,..”(1) 6. Internal conflict - Lisa’s internal conflict is her fear of death because of her tumor. 7. Dynamic Character - Lisa changes from really tough and not letting anyone care about her and then she ends up loving Malone. 8. Round Character -  Nathan Malone expressed his feelings and more. “...You see… I love you” (103). 9. Climax - “Did you follow me?” (103) We get to know what happens to Lisa. 10. flat character - Nathan's Mom, Karen, disapproves his relationship with Lisa and is always over protective over him.
Characterization
1. “Lisa, the Harley Princess” (14). “ Rod “Roddy’... Was a football legend at….” (4) 2. Her diction does changes when Nathan talks about Lisa and how much he loves her. 3.The protagonist id round. He expresses all his feelings throughout the novel. 4. After i read the novel, I felt like i met Lisa. Lisa is a strong teenager who is fight and won’t back down for anything. she is living the way she wants. “I’m not planing to go to college” (87).
One Idea that i will remember for a long time is that people can be happy even though they are very sick. They deserve to live like any other person. And we should be very proud of those people. They really deserve our respect and admiration.

Preparedness 101.Zombie Apocalypse

In Khan's article entitled "Preparedness 101. Zombie Apocalypse" He states that You need to be prepared for a zombie/real emergency situation. The author supports his claim by saying that you need to have an emergency kit. The most basic think you might what to put in them may be water, food, medication, tools, supplies, sanitation and hygiene, clothing, bedding, first aid, and important documents. He says, ..."to get you through the first couple of days before you could locate a zombie free refuge camp...''. The author next proceeds to show that you need an emergency plan. First you need to identify the possible emergencies. After you need to pick meeting places inside and outside you home. then proceed to select your emergency contact for outside you town. last ling is to plan your evacuation route.  The Khan argues that CDC is prepared for any disaster. They are ready to provide technical assistance, investigation, and will send medical help. They will also isolate the infected. Khan said, "If zombies did start roaming the streets CDC would conduct an investigation much like any other disease out break."

The Leopard man essay

Today in society people can be either conformity or nonconformity. In Logan Fey's article, "The Society of Leopard Man", he says," Normally I find myself unimpressed with individuals who radically change their appearance through Extreme tattooing, Piercings, hair mutilations etc. Such people are desperate for society's attention." He basically states that most of the time be part of society but the other part to get it of you mind. I personally agree to a certain point. Not all they people who are different change for attention.

Fey's argument says, "Society tends to discourage people from expressing their unique ideas and behaving in ways that are different from their peers." Leopard man is a great example. Although leopard man has tattoos all over his body and lives in isolation, he doesn't care about what other people say. Tom Leppard, known as the Leipard Man is 60 years old and lives in the Scottich wilderness. He basically live the life of a leopard. Logan explains to us that we are scared of the things we don't understand.

Leopard Man changed his appearance for himself. He doesn't want to bring attention he just is the way he is. People's comments don't bother him, he goes on with this life. In my eyes he lives like a normal person. The author says, "He ventures into civilization only when he needs food and supplies, he wears clothing to cover up his colorful body."  When he's is himself it is when he's free. Some people think it's a freak out of this world, some people actually like the way he is. I for example like how the leopard man is, he does what make them happy. Not all freaks are freaky, some actually are worth being around with.

In elementary school a girl transferred from Washington. She was one of those people who were very loud but she wouldn't hang out with anybody. She was tough, but very caring that was made nonconformist. From the look of the girl she was like everyone else, but in inside there was something different. I thought she was a little freaky, but sometimes she wasn't. She, not hanging out with any one, was happy.

Logan said "Society tends to discourage people from expressing their unique ideas and behaving in ways that are different from their peers." I agree with him to a certain point. Not every on changes to get opinions from other people. I would encourage you to not judge people until you really know who they are. I know that's not to happen, so from time to time go with society and other times don't.

Five things you could do to become a better dancer

Five things you could do to become a better dancer

  1. Practice.  Practice makes perfect. The more you practice the better you get. You will have a better chance of remembering the routine if you practice it. It would also make a good exercise. Don’t practice too much the day you have to perform because you will get nerves and will mess up.”With too much practice time, you will decrease your motivation, and waste time” (TorentoDance.com).

  1. Expect challenges, Never give up.  Don’t quit just because you don’t get the routine. We all have bad and good days.To become a better dancer you have to take challenges. Overcoming those challenges can help you in many ways. “ Once you begin to work hard in spite of the way you feel, you will develop a confidence and level of personal integrity in yourself that will inspire you to work hard on the days you don’t feel like it (danceingwith3tsdanceshoes.com).

  1. Stretch. Stretching can make you with you flexibility. Stretch so you don't pull any muscles. You have to warm up no matter what.”The more limber your legs are, the easier it will be to move them” (faceproductions.com). You have to make a habbit of stretching.

  1. Choose the right instructor.  The instructor has to make you want to dance. A good instructor doesn’t only teach you routines but they also correct your mistakes. “There are teachers who make you feel less confident, fat, ugly, and worse about your dancing. Avoid these people at all cost” (TorontoDance.com). The instructor has to just right.

  1. Work towards a goal. “Specific goals are critical to achieving success because without them, you will not be challenged to grow because there is no pressure to get better” (TorontoDance.com). If you have a specific goal, it will make you better. Without a goal, you will go no where. It is the same with life. working for a goal can make you learning easier.

My Favorite mistake

A mistake I will never forget was when my cousin, friends and I ditched school two days in the row. We all thought we were never going to get caught. The first day we ditched we walked to Boomers. We stayed there until the afternoon. After Boomers we walked to Bk. Once we all finished eating we went back to school because our parents were going to pick us up. Inside I felt well pleased because we didn’t get caught. I guess our parents we not notified that we didn’t go because they didn't say anything. Since we didn’t get caught, we decided to do it again.

They next day I asked my dad for money, when he dropped me off. My cousin was already waiting there. Once we were all together we left. We waited for the bus and took it to the transport center. Then they decided to go to SLO. Once we got there we went to eat lunch. After lunch, we went shopping. We had a blast, unfortunately it was getting late. We went back to the bus, But we went to eat at Hometown first. Once we finished, we went back to the bust stop again and without knowing we got on the wrong bus. We didn’t notice that we got on the wrong bus until, we didn’t recognize the way. We all started to panicking. Once the bus dropped everyone off, we asked the driver what bus went to Santa Maria. He told us that we needed to wait two hours before the bus came. It was 4 when the bus came. we got home around 5:30 pm. My parents asked me where was I, I said, “ I went to a friends house and my phone died.”
“Next time uses your friends phone.”
“I will”
My phone had actually died so i had proof of that.

The next day after school my mom was mad at me because they found out that I had ditched two days in a row. Tk gave all of us two days of detention. My parents took my phone away and I couldn’t go out of my house, with the exception of school. And so far I haven’t ditched school, and hopefully I won’t again.

I Learned that if you are going to ditch, don’t ditch two days in a row they will find out. If they don’t find out the first day, just leave it alone because eventually you will get caught. Also, if you are going to take the bus make sure you know the bus routes. You will get lost and that is not a good feeling.
